For
as long as I can remember, I have been in awe of Dame Elizabeth Taylor. It
is my admiration of her strength, her courage, and her zest for life that
leads me to create the Elizabeth Taylor Archives.
My attempt with the Elizabeth Taylor Archives is to build an archive
of sorts using information I have collected over the years. So much has been
written about Dame Elizabeth’s personal life that I have decided not to
focus on that here. Instead, I have decided to concentrate primarily on her
enormous contributions to film, her TV and stage appearances, and, of
course, her life’s great mission, the fight against HIV/AIDS.
The wonderful thing about web sites is their ability to change and evolve.
The fan discussion portion of the Elizabeth Taylor Archives debuted
on 8 June, 2001. Little did I know then that it would become the largest
Elizabeth Taylor discussion group online! The information portion of the web
site debuted in 2005, and has grown steadily since then.
I’d like to remind everyone to visit the acknowledgments part
of the web site. This web site wouldn’t be here without the help of many
wonderful friends. One of those individuals is Topperlove. Without her
knowledge and her beautiful Elizabeth Taylor photographs that she has
collected more than fifty years, this web site simply wouldn’t exist. Please
think of her when you admire a beautiful photograph of Dame Elizabeth
featured on this web site.
Lastly, the HIV/AIDS crisis is still as prevalent as ever, even though many
have forgotten. Please don’t let ignorance take your life, or the life of
someone you love.
