About the Site
Elizabeth Taylor Archives is a completely unofficial, multichannel fan site (and, as such, is not affiliated in any way with the Elizabeth Taylor Trust) dedicated to the one and only Elizabeth Taylor.
This website began as a humble Yahoo! Group (remember those?) in 2001. It expanded to become the Elizabeth Taylor Archives website in 2005. Our mission then, and ever since, has been to create a repository of accurate information on Elizabeth’s life, career as an actress and businesswoman, and pioneering work in the fight against AIDS. With the rise of social media, we launched our Facebook and Instagram pages in 2013 and 2018, respectively, helping reach even more Elizabeth Taylor admirers around the globe.
In 2026, the Elizabeth Taylor Archives was relaunched to celebrate the website’s twentieth anniversary. What began as a simple revamp quickly snowballed into something bigger and more special. (Please be sure to read the acknowledgements below for a special shout-out to Nabiha Haider Rizvi, my partner in crime on this project!) All content has been rewritten, expanded, and recategorized to organize the information based on: The Woman, The Actress, The Philanthropist, The Businesswoman, and The Lifestyle. We’ve also added hundreds of new photographs, almost all purchased or generously provided by friends.
Here’s to celebrating the incredible life and career of Elizabeth Taylor for the next 20 years and beyond!

About Me
Hi, my name’s Andy Budgell! I first fell under the spell of Elizabeth Taylor in 1995, when I was just eight years old. Sick inside with the flu, I was channel surfing and stumbled across a TV miniseries that chronicled Elizabeth’s life. I sat transfixed as her story unfolded and, after the credits rolled, I had to get my hands on anything Elizabeth-related that I could—books, magazines, movies—and it’s been that way ever since. (That summer, eight-year-old me wouldn’t go anywhere without my copy of one of her more tawdry biographies, which I’m sure inspired some strange looks!) I always joke that, for me, all roads lead back to Elizabeth, but it’s true. Directly or indirectly, she’s responsible for my love of film, theatre, and literature, for travel and beautiful things, and for wanting to do my part to help others and give back. And, “through her,” I’ve met friends that have become like family.
If someone had told that eight-year-old that, one day, he’d get a chance to catch a glimpse of his idol in person not once, but twice, and have the opportunity to say hello to her, he never would have believed it. I’ve often tried to understand what about Elizabeth Taylor resonated so strongly with such a young child. Perhaps, even then, I recognized her ability to overcome life’s challenges, her unwavering loyalty to those she loved, and her inherent sense of justice that made her champion the underdog throughout her life, culminating in her work in the fight against AIDS.
She has literally changed my life. Thank you, Elizabeth. 💜
