Elizabeth sat down with Italian songwriter and TV presenter Paolo Limiti on his television show, Ci vediamo in TV (See you on TV). Limiti complimented Elizabeth on her new blonde hair, and she explained the intentionality behind allowing herself to be photographed bald after the removal of her brain tumor. “I didn’t wear wigs or scarves or anything like that,” she explained. “I thought, maybe this could help women who have to shave their heads”. “I was trying to say to women, don’t be afraid of being bald… If it’s going to make you better, then be proud of it, wear it as a badge… of courage, that this is what life is about and I’m not ashamed of it”.
The two also discuss Elizabeth’s AIDS work, and why she felt so compelled to use her voice and her fame to help others.
